The activities of the Yazd Chamber in the past year have been aimed at growth and knowledge enhancement.

During the joint meeting of the board of representatives of the Yazd Chamber of Commerce and the secretary-general of the ICC, it was stated that the activities of the Yazd Chamber in the previous years have been aimed at growth and knowledge enhancement.

The governor of Yazd, appreciating the secretary-general of the Iranian Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for sharing his international experiences, stated at this meeting: “The outcome of the innovative activities of the Yazd Chamber of Commerce in the past year has been growth, moving forward, and knowledge enhancement.”

Mehran Fatemi further considered informational awareness and familiarity with laws and solutions as capacity-building and leading to the creation of progress opportunities, saying that greater opportunities should be created for the province through continuous and organized follow-up.”

Stating that Yazd province has been at the forefront of drafting 16 executive regulations for the law on boosting knowledge-based production in the country, he clarified that accordingly, the Yazd Chamber of Commerce can also enter the field of drafting executive regulations for the law on financing infrastructure and production.

In the same vein, the governor of Yazd continued: “In the international arena, this direction can also be pursued with full awareness of legal and international laws and protocols.”

He further referred to international sanctions, restrictions, and internal administrative sanctions in the country, stating: “The capacity of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) should be used to facilitate the affairs of Yazdi merchants and develop commercial and international relations.”

Referring to the proposal of the export guarantee fund of Iran and the organization for investment, economic and technical assistance of Iran regarding the participation of the private sector in this area, Fatemi said: “The Yazd Chamber of Commerce should also focus on this issue to create new opportunities for Yazdi merchants, as well as provide financing and develop foreign investment in the province.”

In conclusion, emphasizing the need to increase the level of specialized knowledge and negotiation skills to develop business in the province, he noted: “We hope that holding these meetings regularly will lead to greater familiarity with such capacities and content, and its outcome will be an endogenous and exogenous economy for the province.”

The secretary-general of the Iranian Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce also explained the duties and functions of the ICC at this meeting, noting that the International Chamber of Commerce is, in fact, the most important international part of the private sector, which focuses on facilitating trade, standardization, regulation, settlement of economic disputes between merchants, and legislation in all areas related to trade, from money laundering to tax issues and customs matters.”

Mohammad Khazaei continued: “In the field of trade with the world, we must have informational and scientific awareness and be aware of what is happening in global economic relations; otherwise, we cannot function.”

He stated: “The supreme leader has also always emphasized the development of exports alongside strengthening production; the development of exports means being aware of what is happening on the international stage. Part of the problems we have in the economic fields in the international arena is that we do not use the necessary legal tools, contracts, etc., appropriately.”

He pointed to the potentials of the Yazd Chamber of Commerce and added: “Given the potentials that the Yazd Chamber has, it is necessary to be a member of this international club as well in order to elevate the investment opportunities created, while respecting the interests of the province and the country, despite the existing sanctions, to the international level.”

In another part of his speech, Khazaei referred to the risks of trade and said: “We must move towards reducing losses and risks, which are very important for private sector investors.”
