The Yazd Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture is operating as a private sector parliament in Yazd Province. The main goal of this non-governmental organization is to support traders and activists in the fields of industries, mines, and agriculture in Yazd Province.

By utilizing experienced experts and specialists, the Chamber of Commerce has supported industries, mines, and agriculture in this region province. By working towards quality improvement, export and technology development in industries and agriculture, it has contributed to economic growth and development and job creation in Yazd province.

History of Yazd Chamber of Commerce

The Yazd Chamber of Commerce has a long and rich history dating back to 1930. It was initially established as the Chamber of Commerce, and later merged with the Chamber of Industries and Mines to form the current Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture.

Yazd Chamber of Commerce was formed in February 1932 with the presence of 12 merchants:

Haj Abolhasan Vakil was elected as the president, Mohammad Golshan as the vice president, Gholamreza Morshed as the secretary, and Mohammad Papoli as the treasurer of the chamber of Commerce.

The activities of the chambers were suspended for a while due to the government pressure. After lifting the suspension, 16 chambers, including Yazd Chamber, continued their activities.

In the 1940s, with the efforts of merchants, the law on the establishment of the Chamber of Commerce was passed. In 1964, with the boom in the industrial sector and the desire to exploit mines, the Chamber of Industries and Mines was established. In 1969, the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines was formed by merging the two chambers.

After the victory of the Islamic Revolution on April 11 in 1979, by the order of the third martyr of the Mihrab, His Eminence Ayatollah Sadoughi (May His Soul Rest in Peace), Messrs Seyyed Ahmad Akhavan Dastmalchi, Mohammad Hossein Momeni, Mehdi Akhavan Sigari, Mohammad Daemi, Mohammad Ali Tafazoli Yazdi, Gholamhossein Rismanian, and Seyyed Mohammad Seyyed Ebrahimi were appointed as the temporary board of directors. On August 23, 1980, the first round of elections for the Chamber was held and Mr. Seyyed Ahmad Akhavan Dastmalchi was elected as the president of the Yazd Chamber of Commerce.
