The first regional meeting (Europe and Asia) of the World Chambers Federation was held on October 15th and 16th, 2024 in Istanbul, Turkey, with the participation of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the World Chambers Federation (WCF), and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
The main theme of this meeting was “Synergy in Addressing Climate Change,” during which the latest developments related to this challenge, strategies for increasing awareness of how chambers and the private sector deal with it, as well as necessary strategies for future decision-making, were discussed and examined by the attendees. Over 800 specialists, experts, and private sector representatives from 62 countries attended this two-day event.
The “Women in Trade” panel was also held within the framework of this meeting, focusing on how to increase the role of women in the chambers system. In this session, the challenges and opportunities that women face in leadership roles within chambers were discussed and examined.
Additionally, other specialized panels were held on the topics of “Guiding the Transformation of the Global Economy and the Role of Chambers in Advancing These Transformations,” “Leveraging Technology and Climate Finance for Sustainable Development,” and “Strengthening Access to Global Markets for Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)” for further exchange of views and synergy.
Samad Hassanzadeh (President), Hossein Pirmouzen (Vice President), Keyvan Kashefi (Member of the Presiding Board of the Iran Chamber), Mohammad Khazaei (Secretary-General of the Iranian ICC Committee), and Maliheh Nazari (Representative of the Yazd Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture) attended this meeting.
