shared cultural and linguistic ties can boost trade between Iran and Afghanistan

The President of the Herat Chamber of Commerce met the President of the Yazd Chamber of Commerce to hold bilateral talks.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Yazd Chamber of Commerce, during the meeting, Mr. Mojtaba Dastmalchian, the president of the Yazd Chamber, emphasized the importance of strengthening trade relations between the two countries. He stated that the cultural and linguistic commonalities between Iran and Afghanistan can serve as a solid foundation for expanding bilateral ties.

He added that with proper planning, effective cooperation, and synergy—along with leveraging the existing economic potential in both countries—it is possible to create new opportunities for economic development between the two neighbors.

Mr. Abdulwadood Feizzadeh, President of the Herat Chamber of Commerce, also highlighted Afghanistan’s economic capacities and stated that strengthening trade relations between Iran and Afghanistan would contribute to the economic growth of both countries. According to him, the current environment is favorable for expanding trade and the private sector and chambers of commerce can play a crucial role in addressing the existing challenges.

He further noted that although Afghanistan is currently engaged in various development projects, it faces a strong demand for construction materials. In this regard, the province of Yazd is well-positioned to help meet that demand.
